The Angelicum Thomistic Institute exists to promote Christian and religious visions of reality in the university sphere. Based at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), one of seven pontifical universities in Rome, the Angelicum Thomistic Institute fosters theological research and promotes engagement in and dialogue between specialized areas of philosophical and theological thought along with the contemporary sciences. It promotes rigorous intellectual formation of undergraduate and graduate students in secular universities in Europe, analogous to the Thomistic Institute in Washington, D.C.
This project will engage undergraduate and graduate students along with academic professors in intellectual explorations on the question of religious rationality in the modern world. Opportunities for dialogue and conversation between experts and students in this area are especially important. We will focus in particular on professors and students on European secular university campuses. We will do this by creating a network of campus chapters of students, hosting talks presented by experts in their fields, and offering summer student seminars. These will all be focused on three critical topical areas under the theme of religious rationality in the modern context.
