This project aims to give support to Brazilian researchers to participate in the international debate about the existence and nature of God in a creative way. Instead of the trend in Latin American philosophy, which is limited to interpret famous thinkers’ ideas, we propose to encourage Brazilian philosophers to deal with the big questions themselves by means of three main activities: 1. A small-scale funding competition for awards to support research on the nature and existence of God; 2. A mid-project workshop for award winners to present their research and receive feedback from other award winners; 3. Provision of copy-editing and, if necessary, translation services, for award winners to prepare any draft research manuscripts they produce for publication in an English-language philosophy of religion or philosophical theology journal. This way, we can help Latin America to give its contribution to contemporary philosophy of religion, and consequently to the spiritual development of modern world.
