John H. Templeton is the son of Harvey M. Templeton, III and Rebecca L. Templeton, and the grandnephew of Sir John Templeton. After attending Centre College, where he majored in financial economics, Mr. Templeton received his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. He is a partner at Patrick, Beard, Schulman & Jacoway, P.C. in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Templeton concentrates his practice on corporate and business law, as well as mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, and probate. Throughout his career, he has also worked in a diverse number of other fields, including workers’ compensation, personal injury, employment law, tax law, and general civil litigation. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Georgia and has been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Business and Corporate law since 2018.
He is active in the Chattanooga community, including serving as a member of the Chattanooga Bar Association, Estate Planning Council, Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, and Rotaract of Chattanooga.
Mr. Templeton is a former member of the John Templeton Foundation Strategic Planning Sub-Committee. He currently serves on the Audit Committee for the John Templeton Foundation. He is also a Member of the John Templeton Foundation and Templeton World Charity Foundation, Inc., and a Member of the Board of Advisors of Templeton Religion Trust.
