What words of wisdom does Heather Templeton Dill,  President of the John Templeton Foundation, have to offer based on her experiences as a philanthropic leader? She can sum it up in one word — gratitude.

Dill recently joined host Brad Formsma as a guest on The WOW Factor, a podcast that highlights the “words of wisdom” offered by business leaders, spiritual experts, and entrepreneurs. The wide-ranging conversation spans a variety of topics, including Dill’s upbringing and early career as an educator, her transition to working with the John Templeton Foundation, and her personal dedication to preserving her grandfather’s philanthropic vision. 

Though she didn’t always envision herself stepping into the role of President of her family’s foundation — she initially dreamed of and successfully achieved a career as a high school history teacher — Dill describes her transition into stewarding her family legacy as something that happened naturally. She says, “I absolutely see my role as a calling, as a vocation, as something that providence has guided me to over time.” 

As the conversation turns to how the vision of the John Templeton Foundation has evolved and what it means today, Dill explains the Foundation’s aspiration to become a global catalyst for discoveries that contribute to human flourishing. She says, “We want the research we fund to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.”
