This project will continue BioLogos’ mission to show the church and the world the harmony between modern science and biblical faith. The perception of inevitable warfare (and the reality of repeated conflicts) between science and Christianity has done great harm to the church and the next generation while hampering the Christian witness in the public square. In this project, BioLogos addresses the Big Questions regarding the compatibility of science and Christian faith, the relevance of Christianity in a modern scientific world, and the role of in-person events as a particularly effective means of effecting change.
Three key activities form the core of this project. We will continue two multi-day BioLogos national conferences (2021 and 2023) and add two single-day regional mini-conferences (2020 and 2022), reaching hundreds of attendees each. In addition, we will exhibit at two non-BioLogos conferences per year to form relationships with Christian institutions and build awareness of BioLogos within their communities.
Together, these activities will be effective in reaching multiple audiences. Christian institutions and individuals will increasingly accept mainstream science as in harmony with their biblical faith, and see BioLogos as a key resource on these issues. This impact will extend into the public square as our own visibility grows and we equip Christians to fruitfully engage the scientific culture around them. And the next generation of Christian young people will increasingly see science as enriching their faith as they remain constructively engaged in their faith communities.
