Love and caring are emotional phenomena that play central and deep roles in human thought and action. Nonetheless, inadequate, reductive understandings of the nature of love and caring have prevented researchers from properly recognizing these roles. By organizing interdisciplinary conferences and workshops, we will bring philosophers, psychologists, and neuroscientists together to stimulate philosophers to make use of empirical findings about the emotions and increase scientists' awareness of new philosophical approaches to human agency, with the aim of rethinking our understanding of love and caring and developing alternatives to existing paradigms of human agency.
